Project Description
Located in the heart of Athens, with unique view of Lycabettus hill, lingers the specific architectural masterpiece that dates back to 1880 and is classified as neoclassical building under state protection. It was designed by the Danish architect Theophil Edvard Freiherr von Hansen and served for years as the residence of the actress Elli Lampeti.
The process of transforming this iconic building into Athens Flair Boutique Hotel included the significant challenge of creating a luxurious place that meets today’s specifications of touristic industry under absolute respect to the history and attitude that this monument of cultural heritage bears.
The hotel extends to three stories and incorporates five suites with 16 beds, reception hall and living room. At the top floor an elegant roof garden awaits the visitors to indulge in the overview of Athenian cityscape.
Entropy’s team was assigned with the construction of the central air-conditioning system for the hotel. Bearing in mind the special features of the project we chose a Variable Refrigerant Volume (VRV) system to deal with the thermal and cooling needs of the interior spaces. The maximum energy efficiency and the versatility under partial loads of such a system were the major aspects leading to our decision.
Two external compressor units were installed at the roof top together with architecturally integrated protection panels that minimizes noise and visual pollution. The refrigerant pipeline constructed of copper in double-pipe arrangement was constructed with pressurized joints and fittings to minimize particle and chemical pollutants within the system. Inside every room of the hotel concealed duct units were fitted along with slot air-grilles in order to align with the aesthetic specifications of the client.
